Start by parting your hair and placing it in pony tails just behind your ears. |
| |
Put your hair into "mini buns", securing them with bobby pins. |

I use loose hair from Sally Beauty Supply. It's called "The Sassy Collection: 100% Kanekalon Jumbo Braid" SKU 348032, color #8.I tried the silky hair and found it heavy and very difficult to work with. This type has worked very well, and it's inexpensive! It does have a lot of texture, but it doesn't tangle like the smooth stuff. |
| |
Start out by wrapping hair around the mini-bun. Secure it with a pin once it's wrapped it around once. |
| |
Next, twist and wrap.I tend to do this with my head at an angle. Normally, I don't start pinning until I've tucked in the end of the hair. |
| |
The unsecured bun.I start pinning in the area that I tucked the last of the hair in.Usually, I'll have about 5-8 pins keeping the outer bun in place. I pin the outer section first, then any inner sections that might be too poofy. |
A different option is to cover the mini-bun with the fake hair.Do this by starting in the same way (wrapping the end around the mini-bun and securing it with a pin). Then fold the hair over the mini-bun and secure it with a pony tail holder.Getting this to look right takes time and some patience. |

The hair hanging off the covered bun.I'll note here that in trying to photograph this process, I messed it up. The bun cover should be neat, not as messy as this. Now the hair is twisted and wrapped around the bun, just like before. |

This is the "covered bun" version.I'm not happy with how the center turned out, it should be smooth, and my hair shouldn't be visible. |
The non-covered bun. This is the way I do the hair 99% of the time. It's fast and easy. The whole twisting and wrapping process takes about 15 minutes for each side. |
